Canadian. 1940s-1950s. Pressed steel. A rare "sit-n-ride" box truck made by a small Canadian toy company with very little known history. The toy is foot-to-floor operated. While the term is synonymous with the "ride-on" toys, the company made a point of distinguishing the two names through the style of the toy, which features an enclosed cargo area for the child to sit on. Decalled, "Richard Toys Co. Longueuil", on sides of truck and "Richard", on cab doors. From the Yvan Lalonde Collection.
