Murphy's Romance: A Belt Buckle Worn by James Gardner, Columbia, 1985, silver-toned oval belt buckle inlaid with turquoise spelling 'Murphy's Romance' and a coral-like stone in the shape of a heart, 'K/W' inscribed on the back, likely of the forger. 3 1/8 x 4 1/4 x 3/4in. Footnotes: Provenance: Gifted to the vendor's father who was a crew member on set. One of only two known versions of this buckle made for the 1985 film for which James Garner received an Academy Award nomination for playing 'Murphy Jones', a widowed pharmacist who falls in love with a younger divorced woman (Sally Field) and forms a bond with her son.
