Canadian. 1930s. Lithographed tin. Marked, "The Empire Tobacco Company Branch of Imperial Tobacco Co.of Canada Limited, Montreal & Granby, Canada", lower quarter. All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions. From the late Marcel Gallays Collection.

6" x 4.25" Dia. and 3.5" x 3.5" Dia.

Condition
Very good to excellent condition. Both retain excellent colour and lustre. Large canister 1 LB Side A: shows some surface area loss to raised edge. Paint loss is affecting the "Tobacco" script. Side B: shows surface loss to the left side beneath the forest script and affecting the "E, M" in "stream". Top shows surface loss and minor impressions. Quarter pound in: shows pinpoint nicks. Front side shows minor oxidation in the upper quarter centre. Side B: shows 2 minor nicks affecting the "R" of "stream" and between the two "C"s in "tobacco". Other nicks in the lower margin.
