Sjoerd Elzer 1944-Elzer is a son of Ploeg painter Ruurd Elzer (1915-1995) and Dieuwerke Grietje (Diete) Coolman. Like his father, he received his training at Minerva Academy (1961-1968) in the city of Groningen. In 1968, he received Minerva's Threshold Prize for graphics. Two years later, he had his first solo exhibition at the Groningen Town Hall. He became a teacher of graphic techniques at the Academy. As an artist, his work includes acrylic and oil paint.Provenance; collection gallery Wiek XX
