Wilhelm Schnabl (Eger 1904 - 1990 Salzburg) was a Bohemian-Austrian painter and draftsman of the post-war modern period, focusing on landscapes, portraits, and everyday scenes. Born in 1904 in Eger (now Cheb/Czech Republic) as the son of a railway official, he moved to Vienna in 1918, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1922 to 1927 under Karl Sterrer and Alois Delug, passed his teaching qualification examination for art education and mathematics in 1928, taught drawing in Ried im Innkreis (1930–1936), Kufstein (from 1936), and Bludenz (from 1948), retired in Salzburg in 1969, and had an exhibition at the Salzburg Art Association Traklhaus in 1974 and at the Salzburg Museum Carolino Augusteum in 1988. Schnabl created pen and ink drawings, watercolors, and portraits characterized by fine lines, nuanced observation, and regional sensibility, influenced by Viennese Realism, the Innviertel tradition, and contemporary illustration; works such as "Boy from the Ried Poorhouse" (1934), "Hans Fronius with Pipe" (c. 1936), and landscapes with social and scenic precision. Further artists and styles: Karl Sterrer, Alois Delug, Hans Fronius, Adolf Rauch, Innviertel Artists' Guild, Salzburg Art Association, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, post-war art
