Discret (Diskret) Typewriter, 1899
Manufactured by Dr. Friedrich Rehmann, Karlsruhe, Germany. One of the most attractive typewriters ever built. As the name "Secret and World Typewriter" suggests, it is also a cypher machine, with setting pointer and two concentric rings. The inner ring can be loosened and turned for writing encrypted texts, letters, etc.! With wood case. – Literature: Martin, 1949, p. 168. – One of the most important collector's items and most spectacular exhibition pieces of its kind for any advanced collection!
