Lantern de Salon, c. 1880
Lapierre, Paris. The largest version of this magic lantern, tinplate casing painted with alcohol varnish, 36 cm high, for 6 cm strips, including lens, chimney, reflector, burner with glass top, and 18 early strips of French fairytale scenes (all intact) in the original presentation box measuring 51 x 33 x 13 cm with the gold-colored imprint "Lantern Magique." Rarely found in such complete condition!
