Possibly a piece stamped by Messrs Norrie & Son, either having been worked upon by them or sold through their company, rather than manufactured by them
W&C Norrie was listed as a subscriber of John William Small, Ancient and Modern Furniture (1883). The partnership of W. C. Norrie & Co., upholsterers of Dundee, was dissolved in 1885 with the business being continued by W. C. Norrie in his own name, his son continued the business at the death of his father.
