1977 India “Development Oriented Coins” Proof Set issued by the India Government Mint, Bombay, comprising 50 Rupees and 10 Rupees commemorative coins featuring the Ashoka Lion Capital obverse and “Save For Development” reverse design dated 1977. The 50 Rupees coin weighs 35 grams and is struck in 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc; the 10 Rupees coin weighs 25 grams and is struck in 75% copper and 25% nickel. Housed in original government plastic holder with blue insert labeled “Development Oriented Coins – 1977, India Government Mint – Bombay,” accompanied by original printed specification card.
Condition
Proof surfaces with light handling marks and minor hairlines visible under magnification. Original government holder present with expected light surface wear. Specification card included and shows light age-related toning. Please review photos carefully.
