A 19th century Chinese export porcelain teapot, decorated in the Canton famille rose palette with alternating figural panels and bird-and-flower medallions, framed by dense scrolling foliate borders.
The cylindrical body is enamelled with interior scenes and stylised floral motifs, fitted with a curved porcelain spout and an original matching lid, decorated en suite.
The teapot retains its original cane-wrapped swing handle, secured with metal hooks, a characteristic feature of mid-to-late 19th century export wares produced for the Western market.
The base is unmarked with an unglazed footrim, consistent with Canton export porcelain of this period.
