MARS ATTACKS! (1996) - Stop-Motion Martian Puppet - A stop-motion Martian puppet from Tim Burton's Mars Attacks! Based on the Topps trading card series, the film saw Martian invaders terrorizing humanity during their conquest of Earth.

Burton's initial idea was to use stop-motion animation for the Martians, and several detailed puppets were constructed. However, stop-motion proved too complex and caused the movie's budget to escalate. As a result, Burton was convinced to use CG animation created by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) instead. The puppets were ultimately scanned and used as a primary reference for the final digital animation.

This Martian puppet features an internal metal armature covered in foam latex skin, with an airbrushed green-and-brown finish. Off-white pupilless eyes and teeth adorn the face. The foam latex exhibits minor deterioration and cracking from age, as well as small patches of paint wear. Care should be taken when handling due to the aged puppet's fragile nature.
