Naval Rapier
circa 1836. Straight, single-edged blade with fuller, on the ricasso with an engraved anchor as a maritime emblem of sovereignty and service. Also, engraving of the manufacturer and year 1836. Iron-mounted hilt with half-shell quillon, plain guard and ribbed grip made of organic material. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings. Blade length: 67 cm, overall length 84 cm. Signs of age and use, overall authentic, good condition. Provenance: From a North German private collection.
