Ingolf Timpner
1963 Mönchengladbach - 2018 Düsseldorf - Untitled (Still Life) - (2001) 2 gelatin silver prints/baryta paper. E. A. 8.9 x 8.8 cm (sheet size), 32 x 32 cm (dimensions with passe-partout). Signed, dated and numbered on the reverse cardboard: I. Timpner / 2001 / EA. Also with personal dedication. Passe-partout. Fully visible framed under glass. Slight rippling. Ingolf Timpner was a German photo artist. He worked with Rolleiflex cameras from the 1950s and 60s. A formal characteristic of his pictures is the development of gelatin silver prints with a natural sponge, which makes the chemical process of photography visible and each hand-print unique. In 1995 he colored his first b/w prints. Since 2007, hand-coloring of individual works has systematically entered his oeuvre. These analog hand-colored photographic works were created as pigment prints after scanning.
