Ingolf Timpner was a German photo artist. He worked with Rolleiflex cameras from the 1950s and 60s. A formal characteristic of his pictures is the development of gelatin silver prints with a natural sponge, which makes the chemical process of photography visible and each hand-print unique. In 1995 he colored his first b/w prints. Since 2007, hand-coloring of individual works has systematically entered his oeuvre. These analog hand-colored photographic works were created as pigment prints after scanning.
