BROD MAX: (1884-1968) Austro-Hungarian author, composer and journalist, best remembered as the friend, literary executor and biographer of Franz Kafka. Vintage signed sepia 3 x 5 postcard photograph of Brod standing in a three-quarter length pose. Photograph by Residenz Atelier of Vienna and bearing their blindstamp to the lower border. Signed by Brod in fountain pen ink across a darker area of the image and dated 1933 in his hand. VG

The Residenz Atelier was operated by Bertold Friedmann and Oskar Neurath in Vienna from the 1910s to the 1930s and specialised in fashion and society portraits.
