Shoji Hamada Brush pot, circa 1971 Stoneware, rich persimmon and grey glazes with brushed wax resist stem leaf decoration to two sides. 13 cm high, 9.5 cm diameter Together with original tomobako or presentation box, inscribed and signed by the artist. Accompanied by an original hotel card inscribed by the artist to Bernard and Janet Leach. The card reads To Bernard & Janet A gift from the Hamadas at the marriage of Pariji Munakata & Hisako Hamada 12.V.71. The front of the card inscribed Mr. Bernard Leach in Japanese, along with embossed hotel name and logo.
