
Description
Third quarter 19th century, featuring a forged iron blade with a serrated back edge and a cylindrical pipe bow opposite. The wooden haft is long, straight, and finely finished, decorated with a row of incised horse tracks on either side, with a deep patina from age and handling. It is inlaid with rows of brass tacks along the bottom, and around the blade. Lg. 17 ¼ lg. of blade 7 ½ in.
