Description
A multi-layered red gemstone pendant made of gold filigree, with a diameter of 5.6 cm and a weight of 41.86 grams. It is a fine example of the "gold filigree inlay" technique, a type of jewelry from the Qing Dynasty's court or aristocracy. It is gilded with silver (or copper) and inlaid with red gemstones (or red tourmalines). The design features a multi-layered gold filigree pattern of flowers, with a large red gemstone set in the center and small gemstones surrounding it. The craftsmanship is exquisite, showcasing great luxury. This piece dates from the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. Gold filigree inlay is the first of the "Eight Famous Crafts of Beijing", and this pendant is of precious material and exquisite craftsmanship, serving as an important physical evidence for studying Qing Dynasty court jewelry and gemstone inlay techniques.
