
Description
Rare mining goblet Lauenstein, around 1750, signed ''CR'' Strongly manganese-tinged glass with tear-off. Rising disc base with folded edge downwards. Baluster shaft with pierced air bladder, ball nodus honeycomb faceted. Attachment of the conically widened cuppa with facet, rolled and olive cut decoration as well as rosette of seven pierced air beads. Frontal cut décor: tree-covered, mountainous landscape with five miners at work. In the foreground a miner with an ore trough on his shoulder, in his right an iron, on the right a miner with a wheelbarrow, on the left one with iron. On the miner's cap engraved initials ''CR'' (signature?). In the background a shaft house with a miner on the winch, as well as a presumably colliery house that a miner leaves with a shoulder axe. The scene is flanked by trees. Inscription on the reverse: "God Seegne and preserve our mine".
