Two Painted Checkerboards

Description

Canada. Second quarter 20th century. Wood/Tin. A lot of two checkerboards in original paint. One in red and black paint with the squares outlined in yellow pinstripe and having an applied sports decal in each corner (hockey, skiing, soccer, and weight lifting). This board is constructed from an old packing crate from the Prince Rupert Fishing Cooperative. The other board has an Art Deco style red, yellow and black tin panel tacked to an old pastry board in apple green paint. Unmarked. 25.25" x 13.5" x 1.5" and 25.5" x 15.5" x 1".
