Description : Rare Biscuit-pattern porcelain wall plate, 1978, designed by Eduardo Paolozzi (1924-2005) for Rosenthal, Germany. Number XXXX of a limited series of 3,000 pieces. The motif in its unmistakable style: surrealism combined with architectural components derived from buildings and machines.
The artwork is a modern, minimalist piece, and features the artist's signature, "Eduardo Paolozzi", in cursive script. The background is a dark, speckled surface. A white, square relief sculpture with an abstract design. The artwork features geometric shapes, lines, and textures, including circles, rectangles, and curved elements. The piece is mounted on a textured square base and signed in the bottom left corner.
To the verso the plate has gold text and a gold emblem in the centre. The text reads "LIMITIERTE KUNSTWERKE" and other text.
