(65.8 cm) high Footnotes: 泰國或老撾 十七/十八世紀 佛陀銅像 Provenance Estate of Karl Lindholm, Norway Private Minneapolis Collection, acquired from the above estate, 1940s/50s Thence by descent to the present owner Seated in bhumisparsamudra on a high stepped throne base with slightly curved edges, the Buddha depicts the moment of his Enlightenment and his triumph over Mara. This style is characteristic of the Lan Xang period in Laos (1353-1707 CE), though similar examples have also been found outside Chiang Mai and Chiang Kham along the Thai-Laos border.
