Ralph & Russo Haute Couture: Lavender Grey Silk Tulle Dress Spring/Summer 2016, Runway Look 22 Lavender grey silk tulle dress with degrade pin-tucked organza ribbon waves Approximate measurements: Chest 32.5', waist 25.5', length at back 59', length at front 59.5' Footnotes: Design Information CONSTRUCTION and EMBROIDERY DETAILS No corset. Fitted sleeveless bodice with a boat neck, the body is fitted to the hip level. Voluminous flared skirt from hip level below, the skirt finished at ankle length with layers of horsehair around the hem to hold the shape out. No embroidery but fabric manipulation technique all over-Bias strips of organza cut in various widths starting at narrow at the top becoming wider towards the hem. Each bias strip is folded in half and hand stitched in the middle in a 'wave' pattern. This process alone took 600 hours. HOURS OF WORK It took 7 couturiers approx. 500 hours for the making alone.
