A large Chinese export lacquered panel crafted from wood and decorated with black and gilt lacquer using the Chinoiserie style. The central scene typically depicts courtly life, rural activities (such as silk farming), or figures in a pleasure garden with pagodas and mountains. The perimeter is decorated with intricate scrolling flower vines and sections containing mythical figures.
