Description
81.25cm curved fullered blade, sharpened for use, etched with a presentation panel, CHARLES BLOODWORTH FROM CORPORAL MAJOR MCPHERSON R.H.GDS 1885, modified 1854 pattern hilt, wire bound fishskin grip, in its steel scabbard. During 1885 the Royal Horse Guards served in the Sudan and operated a Mounted Camel Corps. Given the unusual nature of the Camel Corps it may be that this sword saw service with that Corps.
