
Description
Pair of Plains Native American beaded girl's or woman's high-top boot moccasins, ca. late 19th century. Possibly Tsitsistas/Suhtai (Cheyenne). The leggings of sinew-sewn and pigmented hide construction decorated with narrow banded beadwork panels along the shins and ankles. The beadwork depicting repeating triangular motifs executed in red, yellow, blue, and white beads. Accented by leather fringe threaded with glass trade beads.

Condition
Wear throughout commensurate with age. There are scattered losses to the beadwork and some breaks to the stitching. Some brittleness to the leather. Wear to the soles.
