Edwardian Oak Canteen of Silver-Plated Cutlery, P. Bros Ltd, Sheffield, dated 1917
An early 20th-century oak canteen containing a silver-plated cutlery service by P. Bros Ltd (Perry Bros Ltd) of Sheffield.
The cutlery is stamped with the maker’s marks and is silver-plated, not sterling silver.
The fitted interior retains its original blue felt lining with labelled compartments.
The hinged lid bears an original engraved brass presentation plaque dated 9th June 1917, recording the set as a wedding gift, firmly placing it within the Edwardian / First World War period.

Case heavy and in good order with original plaque.
