Early 20th Century English Bronze Ship’s Bell
A finely cast English ship’s bell dating to the early 20th century, circa 1910–1930.
Executed in solid bronze with a classic flared form and stepped moulding, this substantial piece retains its original wrought iron clapper, internal chain, and pull.
The bell exhibits a beautifully aged surface with scattered pitting and oxidisation typical of long exposure to coastal conditions.
The underside is finished in a reddish marine coating, commonly used to protect against salt corrosion, while the suspension bracket and eyelet remain fully intact and functional.
A robust and evocative object, producing a clear, resonant tone.
