12 GA. STRIPPED SHOTGUN RECEIVER. Cal. N/A. S# 1130871. Bbl. N/A. Model 12 Trap shotgun receiver mfg. by Winchester in 1916. Underside of the receiver is marked with the S# above "TRAP", with "PE" stamped to the rear of the trigger guard bow. Receiver exhibits a properly offset encircled "WP" proof on the top left side of the breech area. Sides of the receiver feature custom lightly engraved wavy line (top) and light scroll (sides) borders, with the left side featuring an engraved "Wade E. Pfost" between a game bird and hunting dog, with a small scene of a game bird engraved on the right. Receiver features a grooved matte strap along the top, which terminates in a grooved matte ramped V/R section. Receiver is stripped, with no internal parts present. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear fading to gray patina, small scattered spots and streaks of light surface oxidation and pitting, as well as some superficial scratches from handling and storage. Receiver exhibits a 2 cracks, each stemming from the left corners of the ejection port. Receiver shank exhibits marring around its circumference towards the receiver.
