TWO RUSSIAN SILVER CIGARETTE CASES C. 1908-1917. The first of traditional rectangular form with rounded corners, the front depicting a Bogatyr on galloping horse with large shield and spear, with blue cabochon thumb piece, and gold plaque on verso with engraved dedicatory inscription, the interior gilded. Hallmarked Moscow Cyrillic makers mark "PG", and 84 silver standard, length 4.5 inches (11.5cm). Together with a heavy polished silver cigarette case, the hinged lid set with winged griffins with central wreath mounted with a polished nephrite cabochon, hallmarked Kiev 1908-1917, with makers mark "IM", probably for Marshak, and 84 silver standard. Length 4 inches (10cm), total weight for both cases 489 grams.
