20th C. From the Lake Yaranicocha region of Peru. Depicts a human effigy. Intricate polychrome designed glaze. The Shipibo are a small tribe living in the remote upper reaches of the Amazon rainforest. They are known for their intricate designs on textiles and pottery. 30" high x 26" diameter.Vessel shows surface scratches, wear and minor loss to glaze. Very minor chips to rim. No visible cracks.
