A late 19th century mahogany cased two day marine chronometer Robert Gardner, 20 Lloyd Sq London The mahogany case, now lacking its lid, with brass mounts and inset side campaign handles, the front fitted with a brass escutcheon and an ivory plaque signed Robert Gardener, London, the interior of the lid compartment opening to reveal brass gimbals with the original winding key present, the 4 inch silvered brass dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, and an upper power-reserve indicator, signed by the maker, the typical chronometer movement with maintaining power and a cut and compensated balance, 18cms high Footnotes: The items that comprise part of this lot containing ivory has been registered in accordance with the Ivory Act (Section 10) Ref EH9JPZ68 This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: Y Ф Y Subject to CITES regulations when exporting items outside of the UK, see clause 13.
