Made using wheel-throwing and molding techniques; phoenix-head spout with vivid beak, eyes and crest, body decorated with string and geometric patterns, clever ring handle and tail wing design, representing prehistoric black pottery peak. Late Neolithic to Xia-Shang dynasties. This ewer is a precious relic of Eastern Yi culture and prehistoric pottery craftsmanship, witnessing the origin of early Chinese wine vessel culture and pottery technology with exceptional archaeological and artistic value.
