
A Worcester cider jug and a coffee cup, circa 1754 Both of 'Scratch Cross' type, the pear-shaped jug with upward pointing spout and applied with a scroll handle, painted in famille rose style with the 'Tea Ceremony' pattern, 18.3cm high, incised cross inside footrim and black enamel workman's mark, the cup of large size, painted with two pheasants standing amongst peonies issuing from blue hollow rockwork, a row of delicate red grass below, 7cm high, single incised line to base (2) Footnotes: Provenance Bonhams, 26 June 2024, lot 148 (cup) A similar cider jug from the Zorka Hodgson Collection was sold by Bonhams on 10 September 2008, lot 46.
