An emerald-green tinted wine or champagne glass, circa 1750 In deep green glass, the cup-shaped bowl moulded with slightly spiralling vertical flutes, on a plain stem containing an elongated tear, the conical foot similarly moulded with flutes, 13.5cm high Footnotes: Provenance Private Collection, Bonhams, 26 June 2025, lot 75 Traditionally known as mead glasses, it is now thought that glasses of this form were more likely used for Rhenish wine or champagne.
