Thomas Luny (British, 1759-1837) Waterloo Bridge, with St. Paul's Cathedral rising beyond signed and indistinctly dated 'Luny 1834' (lower left), bears inscription 'Waterloo Bridge' (verso) oil on panel 24.4 x 26.3cm (9 5/8 x 10 3/8in). Footnotes: Provenance Frederick Leigh Colville of Kempsey House, Worcestershire. Thence by descent to the current owner. According to the artist's inventory, this work was painted for Mr Biriah Bottfield in April 1834.
