
Attributed to Thomas Hargreaves(English, 1774-1847): Portrait miniature of a lady of fashion, circa 1830, together with two similar period English and German female portrait miniatures, the first after Henry Collen (English, 1797-1879) depicting Countess Gower, the second after Madame Caroline Tridon - née Saltler (German, 1799-1863) depicting the Wagnerian actress Wilhelmine Schroder Deuvient All ovals on ivory, the first sitter depicted with her brown hair arranged in ringlets and wearing a black and white dress and swansdown boa before a draped red curtain background, in gilt frame, the second portrait depicted with an elaborate coiffure set within a gilt metal wreath border mount and white metal paste set border, the last also depicted with an elaborate coiffure, indistinctly signed to the left hand side within a gilt frame, the first, 7.2cm x 5.7cm, the second, 3.5cm x 2.5cm, the third, 4.3cm x 3.5cm (not including frames) (3) Footnotes: Caroline Tridon went to Paris circa 1820 to study miniature painting under Augustin and Isabey.
