From Nick Walkers inaugural Exhibition hosted by the Black Rat Press. This art piece ‘A New Dawn’ was displayed and originally sold at the Black Rat Press Preview Evening, 2008.

In ‘A New Dawn’ Vandal meets the apish angel, walkers The last Ferryman in a biblical interpretation. 

The River Styx in mythology, known as the river that separated the world of the living from the underworld was said to be a dark and gloomy river, guarded by Charon the last ferry man (Apish Angel).

The last ferryman to the underworld carries the souls of those who have been given funeral rites across the River Styx. Legend tells the dead who could not pay the fee, and those who had received no funeral rites, had to wander the near shores of the Styx for one hundred years before they were allowed to cross the river.
