An exceptionally important original Ferrari factory invoice, issued by SEFAC in Modena and dated 18 November 1961, pertaining to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione, chassis no. 3005 GT. The two-page document records the supply of the competition Berlinetta, specified with five chromed wire wheels and tyres, tool kit, and limited-slip differential. Notably, the invoice confirms both engine and chassis numbers as 3005 GT and details a total price of US$7,496, with delivery noted F.O.B. Genoa.
The car is further described in Silver Grey (16003 MM) with black interior. The first invoice is addressed to American Ferrari client Darold W. Thiem of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while the second is issued to Luigi Chinetti Motors Inc., New York, Ferrari’s official North American importer. Both pages bear period factory stamps, including “Materiale destinato alla esportazione”. Chassis 3005 GT is a significant works competition example, famously victorious at the 1961 1000 Km de Paris driven by Pedro and Ricardo Rodríguez.
A rare and highly desirable piece of Ferrari factory documentation, intimately connected to one of the marque’s most celebrated competition Berlinettas, offered here in excellent, well-preserved condition.
