This MAGNIFICENT 100% cotton star of Bethlehem quilt is all machine pieced, hand appliqued, and precisely machine quilted, with wonderful background oak leaf wreaths, surrounded by detailed diamond and sharp outer sawtooth borders. It was made in 2002 by Ellen Schargel Rosenbach, an acclaimed quilt artist whose work has captivated audiences with its technical brilliance, historical depth, and striking originality. Her intricate one-of-a-kind designs are celebrated for their meticulous craftmanship, innovative construction, and expressive use of color and pattern. The quilt is signed and dated "Ellen Rosenbach 10-31-2000" on the reverse.
It measures 70" X 70" and is in excellent condition, with no spots, wear, holes, or fade.
There is precise machine quilting throughout around and with in the piecework and appliqued, and in cable designs in the background.
The back is white, the machine stitched binding is the same chocolate brown used in the interior, and the batting is thin. The quilt feels like, and is constructed like, a vintage quilt. This is not an import.
