Description

Six embossed amber bitters bottles incl Dr J Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters (2), Hartwig’s Alpine, Red Jacket, Prickly Ash and Purdy’s Cottage; surface wear, staining and interior haze consistent with age.

Condition

scattered surface wear, staining and dug residue; light interior haze and age toning throughout, no other major cracks observed. The Purdy bottle, Bottle appears to be a deep amethyst/purple sun-colored manganese glass example with strong embossing. Displays scattered surface scratches and light exterior wear throughout, heaviest around shoulder and neck area, with typical interior haze/sediment residue from age. A few minor manufacturing bubbles and straw marks observed. Rim appears free of major chips or cracks; no visible repairs observed. Overall a strong display example with attractive color and embossing.
