Description
A *German WWII "Chicken Wire" M40 Helmet in good to very good condition. The helmet maintains very good paint with a nice chin strap and liner. The serial number in the helmet reads "ET68". The German M40 helmet was a standard combat helmet introduced in 1940 during World War II as a simplified evolution of the earlier M35 design, reflecting Germany’s shift toward faster, more economical wartime production. While it retained the overall shape and ballistic protection of its predecessor offering effective defense against shrapnel and debris the M40 eliminated some of the more labor-intensive features, most notably by stamping the ventilation holes directly into the steel shell rather than using separate inserts. *Due to Proxibids/Live auctioneers new payment processor, Payrix, having policy against processing payment for German WWII Militaria or “Nazi” memorabilia, this item will require payment through an external processor.
