Title: Oil painting Houses near the forest Oksana Kalenyuk Description: NoAAA4509The painting "Houses Near the Forest" captures a serene yet evocative landscape, where rustic dwellings stand nestled against the towering presence of a dense woodland. The artist's expressive brushstrokes and thick impasto technique bring the scene to life, making the textures of the trees, rooftops, and earthy paths almost tangible. The central element of the composition is a quaint house with a sloping roof, seemingly weathered by time and nature. Its walls are painted in soft, muted shades, blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. The thatched or wooden roof appears aged, covered in strokes of brown and ochre, suggesting years of exposure to the elements. The structure is partially obscured by trees, giving the impression that the house is an intrinsic part of the forest, almost swallowed by the wilderness. The trees in the foreground and background are rendered with a dynamic interplay of colors and textures. Some trees, possibly birches, have pale, almost ghostly trunks, their bare branches reaching toward the golden sky. Other trees are more robust, with dark, twisted limbs that contrast starkly against the lighter tones of the ground. The artist's use of deep reds, purples, and blues among the branches and shadows adds a sense of mystery, as if the forest holds stories untold. The ground is painted with a rich palette of earthy greens, yellows, and browns, capturing the varied textures of grass, moss, and dirt pathways. A winding path leads toward the house, inviting the viewer to imagine walking into the scene. Small details, such as patches of white that might represent melting snow or morning frost, add depth and seasonal ambiguity to the setting. The sky, though not the dominant element, provides an ethereal backdrop. The golden hues suggest either sunrise or sunset, casting a warm glow over the landscape. The interplay of light and shadow enhances the atmosphere, making the painting feel almost like a moment suspended in time. The artist's technique emphasizes movement and energy, with thick, deliberate strokes that make the scene feel alive. The texture of the paint gives the work a tactile quality, as if the viewer could reach out and feel the rough bark of the trees or the soft grass beneath their feet. The impasto application allows light to play off the ridges of paint, adding further dimension to the composition.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING **** TITLE: "Houses near the forest"* ARTISTS: Oksana Kalenyuk* SIZE: 15x20 cm/'5.90x7.87 inches'* MEDIUM: oil, cardboard* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection* CONDITION: Photos provide accurate information about the product.About the artists: Kalenyuk Oksana was born in 1964 in Rivne region.
