Title: Oil painting A river flows through the steppe Yuri Lyubavin Description: NoAAA5188The oil painting on Canvas titled "A River Flows Through the Steppe" evokes a timeless pastoral serenity, capturing the essence of the Ukrainian landscape in its unhurried rhythm and luminous beauty. This work reflects not only a moment in nature, but also a way of life deeply rooted in the harmony between people, land, and water. The composition is rich with sweeping brushstrokes and warm, vibrant tones that create a sense of fullness, as though the very air hums with life under the open sky. The scene is set in the expansive steppes, a land of broad horizons and golden light. A gentle river meanders through the lower part of the composition, reflecting a soft sky laced with gauzy clouds. The surface of the water, rendered in fluid strokes of blues and soft browns, captures both the color of the sky above and the shadow of the trees along its banks. The river acts as a quiet, yet powerful line of life and motion, guiding the viewer's eye into the heart of the painting. Towering trees dominate the middle ground, with their thick, twisting trunks and crowns of green, ochre, and bronze. Their foliage is painted with expressive movement, hinting at a mild breeze that rustles the leaves and whispers through the tall grasses. These trees provide shelter and scale, anchoring the human presence below. Closer inspection reveals figures resting and conversing under their branches: a woman in red and a child, drawn in delicate, small forms, add a gentle narrative element to the natural harmony. To the left, the land slopes downward in golden strokes of steppe grass, transitioning into pink and green shades where wildflowers and weeds cluster near the river's edge. This palette conveys a sense of early autumn-when the earth is rich in color and warmth, yet touched by the soft haze of changing seasons. Across the horizon, distant white-roofed cottages peek through fields, emphasizing the rural setting and the sense of a lived-in landscape. Herds of grazing animals dot the meadows, their presence reinforcing the peaceful coexistence of human life and nature.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING **** TITLE: "A river flows through the steppe"* ARTISTS: Lyubavin Yuri Mikhailovich* SIZE: 80x99 cm/'31.49x38.97 inches'* MEDIUM: oil, canvas* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection* CONDITION: we tried to convey the maximum information with the help of photos about this product About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter.
