Absolutely stunning antique 1880's/1890's Japanese Meiji period blue & white porcelain charger! A very whimsical and traditional center decoration depicting men reading texts under a cherry blossom tree in full bloom, with a young boy attentively standing to the right. The back is also decorated, as is traditional on these platters.

It measures 12" in diameter and is 2" in overall depth. It is in good overall condition, with age appropriate wear for the decades. It has one very small chip to the rim as shown in the closeup, quite minor given the age.
