Antique pair of Spanish Colonial Conquistador style slipper stirrups. Both the left and the right stirrups have been heavily repaired with brass and copper, which adds to the mystique of this unique pair of stirrups. The repairs may also serve as testament to their age, which is unknown but most likely the 19th Century or earlier. Both are uniquely decorated with a floral crest, geometric patterns, and a twisted rope border on the sides. Two triangular holes, originally placed to allow drainage, are present on the bottoms of each slipper making these easy to hang as wall decor or planters. Having been handmade, the left and right slippers differ slightly in size by less than an inch.
