By the late 1870s Louis Prang's Boston studio was the envy of the printing world "” producing color plates so refined that European publishers studied his methods. "The Wild Flowers of America" project was his masterpiece, celebrating native North-American flora in jewel-like detail.
This grouping from Series II, Volume II includes Plates 2, 5, 13, 38, 42, 44, and 48 "” each an authentic 19th-century chromolithograph drawn by Helen Sharp and bearing the L. Prang & Co. imprint.
