Each with paper label: Saga Hoi An Hoard Visal. Excavated from the famous Hoi An shipwreck cargo and licensed to Saga. Originally auctioned at Butterfield & Butterfield Auction House, San Francisco, circa 2000, with original label and identification number. Likely 15th?16th century export ware associated with Hai Duong / Chu Dau kilns of northern Vietnam. A fine example of historic Vietnamese trade ceramics reflecting the rich maritime commerce of early Southeast Asia. Numbers 168438, 130968, and 154566. The tallest measures 3.1/8 in. high, 5.1/8 in. wide. From antique collection of a former Yale Faculty member.
