Description:This is a superb bird's-eye view of Frankfurt am Main with Sachsenhausen on the other bank of the Main River. The river is navigated by several ships and has a bridge crossing it. This medieval town was an important trading city with its important fairs, and now is a gobal financial, commerce and cultural center. The city is surrounded by an elaborate turreted wall, with parts of it remain in place to this day. A large coat of arms is above the city along with two catouches held up by putti which have the keys locating 25 important buildings and places. It is from Munster's Cosmographia. Published by H.
