About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Honored Artist of Ukraine. Goncharenko Valentina Yakovlevna was born on 08/10/1932 in the city of Yenakiyevo, Donetsk region. In 1963 she graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute, where her teachers in the specialty were G. Yakutovich, V. Kostetsky, K. Trokhimenko. Goncharenko V.Ya. - Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1970. Major works: "Youth" (1970), "Portrait of G. Statkevich" (1983), "Portrait of A. Tkachuk" (1990), Podolsk landscape "(1999). Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1970. On September 6, 2006, at the Sothebys auction in Amsterdam, a painting by V.Ya. Goncharenko "Sorting the catch", 1972, 127 x 137, oil on canvas (lot 427) was sold for 4348 US dollars. The painter's works are kept in many public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
