Description
This is a rare 18th-century hand-colored copperplate engraving of the Bassin de Neptune in the gardens of Versailles, published in Paris by Gilles Demortain between 1716 and 1724. The print, often titled "Bassin de Neptune, vu du coté du Midy," illustrates the fountain complex adorned with 22 metal vases designed by Charles Le Brun.
